Aloha Friday Picture: “Sherwood Seaside” Oahu

Mahalo to Darlene Czarcinski for this good picture of “Sherwood Seaside” on Oahu.

“Sherwood Seaside” (often known as “Sherwoods”) is at Hunananiho Seaside Park which is within the Waimanalo space. (See this link to Google Maps to get instructions.) This seashore forest will get its nickname from the abundance of bushes which might be paying homage to Robin Hood’s Sherwood Forest.

We consider the bushes you see in Darlene’s picture are ironwood or casuarina trees. You’ll see them on different Hawaiian Islands, too.
